"We sold out of our entire worldwide stock just two days after releasing the book. When we printed our first batch, we had to take a leap of faith and order a significant amount of books to produce them for a low cost. It was a punt to be honest, and we had no clue whether we would sell any, let alone everything we had. Since then, we have recruited our third publishing company overseas to meet our printing demands. I'm truly overwhelmed and grateful"

Words From The Author: Shahbaz Choudhry

When I was coming up in the game, very few coaches talked about biomechanics, technique or how to increase speed. It was a relatively new thing, and I really got stuck into it.

I was lucky because I was from the early crop of bowlers to benefit from significant technical work. It really helped me increase my speed. But, because it was such a new phenomenon, there was no guidance on how to safely approach technical intervention, the pitfalls you could fall into and how to maximise performance on the pitch.

Although I made progress, I also didn't know how and when to switch from technical mode to performance mode when I needed to. I genuinely believe that I am from the guinea pig era where bowlers and coaches experimented with training and technical methods to increase their speed.

Looking back, I've come to appreciate that fast bowling is an art as well as a science. I over prioritised the science of fast bowling and lost the artistry I once had.

It's one of the hardest things that I have ever had to deal with mentally and emotionally. I'm now on a mission to help bowlers benefit from all of the things that helped me increase my speed and protect them from making the mistakes that I made.

The Book of Pace is a reflection of my 15-year mission and journey to discover everything about fast bowling. It includes everything that I believe is required to truly increase bowling speed and become the fastest and most effective bowler you can become.
